So for the last few days, my feed has been flooded with reels, pics and news about a group of Indian Tourists dancing to their heart’s content ( And others’ dismay) on the airport tarmac.
Another video shows them performing a flash mob kind of thing on the tracks of Hanoi Train. (Chaiyya Chaiyya to be precise).
The look on the faces of other tourists/ passengers is pure shock, not pleasantly surprised they were, I guess. But our Mandali continues undeterred.
But Why? What for?
To showcase our culture, it seems. To present our heritage ( Chaiya Chaiya) to the world.(On the tarmac, mind you. 😔)
To express our joy, our friendship and our group enthusiasm.
Yes, these are the reasons being provided.
I, am saddened. And this ain’t the first time.
On a trip to Mauritius, where inside every bus it was clearly posted
‘Please Don’t Eat In The Vehicle.’
One group passed Snack Packets and Dabbas, for a 15min ride.
Antaksharis in airports. Loud laughters in quaint restaurants. Ambushing the swimming pool in t-shirts and pants.
And yes, the rest of the patrons, moving away in disgust. Rest of the world reacting now. Banning Indians. Reducing the Visa period.
Is this the Indian Culture we are supposed to take pride in?
