First things first. It’s so refreshing to watch an actress going without makeup, fillers or botox. Karisma Kapoor plays, looks and owns her age. Bravo.
The murder mystery is gripping, kept me hooked from start to end. It effectively arouses your curiosity, with a twist here and there, sans being melodramatic. The mystery revelation is gripping, the narration being water tight.
What works beautifully is how the City of Joy has been captured. I am neither Bengali nor from Kolkata, but Brown brings out the essence of the city, with Bengali dialogues and soothing Bengali music, Rabindra Sangeet, and some rock too. A different style to the BGM.
Shaan is a treat to listen to, Surya Sharma, Jisshu Sengupta, Ajinkya Deo , Soni Razdan and Helen light up the screen, but it’s #KarismaKapoor all the way. She carries the series on her shoulders, playing the broken and alcoholic cop to perfection, never going over the top. Such layered and subtle acting, love to see her back.
A bit gory yes, but an edge of the seat thriller. Realistic, compelling,
Definitely Worth A Watch.
