Title: The Zora Trigger
Author: Priya Nayak Gole.
Genre: Thriller
Publisher: Vishwakarma Publications
The Zora Trigger is a fast paced thriller that keeps you hooked from the start to the very end. The story is about a brave armyman, Maj. Paramjeet Gill, who, in the line of duty, meets with an ambush and is maimed for life. He’s accused of being a traitor, and his troubled past and relationships catch up with him. His mentor, his Papaji, has entrusted him with the task of unraveling a national secret which is killing the country’s top scientists.
Is there a mole in their team? Will he ever find the key to the mystery, as people around him are getting murdered? The Zora Trigger is the answer.
Why I particularly liked the book, is the element of mystery at many a juncture. As the protagonist goes about finding the truth about the murders and explosions, there’s always something unexpected lurking. New characters are introduced, but not too many to confuse the reader. There are no loose ends, Priya provides an answer to every question. That emotion we call Loss, has been dealt with very well. Be it colleagues, relatives or lovers.
What works for the book, is the balance between suspense, emotions, love, passion and of course the twists. Most importantly, the war and military setting impressed me a lot, it’s a difficult genre to write. Priya efficiently arouses the reader’s curiosity at the end of every chapter and lets out the secrets at the perfect time. The language is very neat and professional, with friendly banters, wit and romance thrown in.
The finale packs a punch indeed. I could actually picturise a Hollywood Action Movie climax. With weapons, choppers, and yes, the revelation of Zora and the Trigger!!
To summarise, The Zora Trigger is a gripping, unputdownable, action packed Espionage Tale. The life of soldiers, the bravehearts who put Nation before lives, has been described very beautifully, you feel proud to be an Indian. I have only read an Ashwin Sanghi book this fast, Priya’s book keeps you on your toes.
Highly Recommended.
