Hindi – Netflix
A Taut and Realistic take on India’s convert mission to sabotage Pakistan’s Nuclear Bomb aspirations, back in 1972. The 6 episode espionage thriller moves fast and keeps you hooked.
Vishnu Shankar played by Pratik Gandhi is a RAW agent posted in Islamabad with a purpose, by his boss R N Kao played by Rajat Kapoor. Vishnu efficiently extracts top secrets while his life hangs by a thread. There are other agents too, chased by smart and shrewd Pakistani Army men. This game of Hide and Seek is what forms the crux of the story.
Won’t divulge much, this one has to be watched.
The series is gripping, and truly an edge of the seat thriller. Fast paced and pragmatic. Most Importantly, it’s clean and classy, going easy on the language and gore.
The performances are praiseworthy too. Pratik Gandhi is good, but has a monotonous role. It’s actually Sunny Hinduja as Murtaza Malik and Suhail Nayyar as Rafiq, who steal the show. Rajat Kapoor is great as ever, but Tilottama Shome deserved something meatier.
A binge worthy watch for sure, the series is mature and suitable for all age groups. There’s a dialogue, “We Agents are Not James Bond, we don’t drink expensive booze and travel in elite cars. What we do isn’t even known to our families.” Struck a chord somewhere.
A definite one time watch.
