The movie starring Pratik Gandhi and Yami Gautam is light hearted, fast and comic. There are some dialogues and moments that genuinely pack some laughter. But…
Having said that, there’s nothing very new that Dhoom Dhaam has to offer, none that you haven’t seen. The protagonists get arranged married and the wedding night is gatecrashed by some goons who are looking for something the couple has. So the couple takes off and the entire movie revolves around the events that unfold over one night.
As they run around all over the town, they end up knowing each other more. And here’s where the CLICHE kicks in.
The lady was portrayed as shy, demure and sanskari before engagement. But turns out, She Drinks, Abuses, Has Boyfriends, Visits Strip Clubs… I say nothing wrong with all this, but Why Should All This Be About Women Empowerment and Independence? She mouths a Kartik Aaryan style monologue too about feminism.
The guy is actually shy, confused and has a phobia for everything. And his moment of Nirvana? When he performs at a Strip Club and does the Full Monty.
Well, opposites attract, everything falls in place, and the movie ends fast, has a short runtime.
Yami Gautam and Pratik Gandhi are good, but you have seen them perform similarly before.
Dhoom Dhaam could be your one time watch. It’s pretty clean and harmless. And short.
You can give it a try.
