Dabba Cartel – Hindi – 7 episodes- Netflix
Dishes, Dabba and Drugs. Pretty much of an unseen concept, the enterprise being entirely manned by 5 women. The thriller series is about their adventures, rather misadventures, recklessness and chaos, as they go about their narcotic journey.
The story is about 5 middle-class Dabba Business women , desparate for some fast cash. One thing leads to the other and to repay a huge debt, they smuggle drugs with the tiffin boxes. But the earning grows, their greed rises and they take it up full time. To soon realise that they are being chased down by goons, other cartels and police.
There’s a parallel story with a Narcotics officer and a Police constable investigating the production of an illegal medicine, which leads them to the Dabba Cartel.
The story has it’s fair share of thrills and twists. The run and chase is fun, but….
The thrill lasts for the first few episodes, post which, the series slows down. It gets a tad bit repetitive after a certain point.
Performances are all good. None faulty, except for Gajraj Rao, who now seems to be stuck in bespectacled, stiff uncle kind of roles.
Overall, an okayish series. Little slow, could have been faster, an episode or two shorter perhaps.
But worth a one time watch.
